My worries started when Diego was one year and eight months old because he did not utter any words, did not make eye contact, did not chew, did not follow instructions, did not recognize his family environment, and felt very upset with any noise. Based on these problems we took Diego to different specialists, including a pediatrician, neurologist, speech therapist, psychiatrist, and psychopedagogue. He was eventually diagnosed with a ‘neurologic lesion with diffuse affection and psychomotor developmental delay’ (autism). After that, Diego started with speech, occupational, and psychopedagogical therapies to stimulate him. However, we did not see any improvement or progress. Therefore, we went to the Medical Center of Dr. Aguilar in the year 2011 for intensive treatment. After three days of taking the proteins prescribed by Dr. Luis Aguilar Cobos, we noticed that our son already focused his eyes when we talked to him. After some time, we observed that Diego started eating, recognized his family members (mother, father, siblings), and even started tolerating certain noises. At this moment in time, my son goes to school, he is in the 5th elementary school grade as a regular student. His academic and social performance is normal and he interacts easily with his schoolmates. He even practices karate-do in the Dojo Yamabushi, having obtained his green belt (6th Kyu). He takes his classes regularly and has participated in tournaments, with very satisfactory performance. Worth of mention is that in his family environment, Diego is a very loving child, who shares and plays with his siblings. He follows instructions, eats, watches television, and performs the usual household tasks on his own. Since Diego started the treatment, we became a more united family because all of us were concerned and made efforts for him to follow his treatments in the times established by the doctor, to fulfill his academic and sports activities and that he never abandoned his therapies. When we see his daily progress and his attainment of new goals, he has become role model for us as parents and for his siblings and friends, in terms of his fight and perseverance. We are convinced and acknowledge that the progress and improvement of Diego are mainly due to the highly qualified team of the Medical Center Livant. They gave us the accurate diagnosis, attention, and effective treatment since 2011 to the current date. For this reason, our family does not doubt to recommend this Medical Center 100 %. In it, we received excellent attention by Dr. Aguilar Cobos, who was always very clear and explained in detail every single problem and improvement seen in our son. We must also acknowledge the work of the Psychologist Díaz and of Mr. Luis Torres, and of all the staff in charge of conducting the studies. My personal belief is that the best testimonial possible of the effective treatment given is the evident improvement of our son in such a short period of time. I would recommend those parents who believe that their child has any type of problem not to feel fear or embarrassment. Look for help and care, because early, fast, and adequate medical care creates a huge difference, improves the disease, but most important, the quality of life of the patient.

When my son was 11 months old, he was diagnosed with microcephaly and overall developmental delay. We started to look for different ways and treatments to help my son to progress and overcome his difficulties. However, no matter what I attempted I was unable to find a cure or see any progress to provide him with better quality of life. Years went by, increasing my deception and frustration. I did not know how to help my son, and his condition continued deteriorating, because he was growing up and I did not know how to help him. I never stopped taking him to different therapies, but nothing had worked, there was no change. When he was 4 years old, I learnt about the Center of Dr. Aguilar. One of my neighbors took her grandson to treatment there and she had seen favorable results. From that moment on, I could not stop thinking of the possibility of finding a treatment for my son. After all I had gone through, I did not know whether I should make another attempt and go to a place unknown to me, dreading the response I would get from them. I feared that they could not find any treatment for my son.

I found it impossible not to give it a try and I made the decision to run the risk and try again. This is a decision I will never regret in my life.

My son is now 12 years old (8 years of treatment).
He has achieved significant progress in his development in general, and whenever I see an improvement, I feel more hopeful.
The people who see him do not recognize any difficulties in him, but when I tell him about his condition they find it difficult to believe. Many of them have children with difficulties and have asked about my son’s progress, about his treatment because they cannot believe that he has advanced so much considering his impairment.
My family and I feel extremely grateful to the Center of Dr. Dr. Aguilar for the great opportunity they are giving to my son and to so many other children. There is a cure and a solution for any condition, and hope is that last thing we should lose.

Importance of an early diagnosis

The importance of establishing an early diagnosis is to determine the underlying alterations in the types and sub-types of neuropsychiatric disorders and give the adequate treatment.Considering that the brain has greater generation capacity at earlier ages, the sooner an adequate treatment is given the greater the neurofunctional and clinical recovery grade.

Our experience shows that there are different neuropsychiatric diseases – such as autism and the generalized developmental disorder, among others – with a more favorable prognosis and faster and more significant clinical changes derived from early diagnoses and interventions; for example, clear and important language improvements are seen (both expressive and comprehensive language) and in the functional skills in general.

The application of neuropsychophysiological tests provides us with an objective and accurate diagnosis for prevention and/or medical intervention required to offer comprehensive care to the patient.
